This class will teach the history of Black Inventers. I will use the alphabet that corresponds to the inventor. This method will allow young students to be able to remember the person's story and invention. Students will be encourage to recognize Black History all year long and not just in February. Will explore the contributions of black people to the success of the World. Students are encouraged to further their learning by watching age appropriate documentaries, visiting museums or reading literature by black authors. Students will become free thinkers, so that means teaching them how to investigate for themselves. They can start by asking the oldest member in their family about how life was for them when they were young.
Learning Goals
Students will understand that Black history is world history and their contributions made life easier for everyone all over the world. Students will want to investigate further for themselves about certain people or events that resonate with them during class. Not only will they gain knowledge, they will also be excited to share this knowledge. And find ways to invent things to make life easier. Fun learning atmosphere!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I've been working with children teaching black history in a classroom and Library setting for 8 years. Students have learned about Black History using the corresponding alphabet to the person and or event method and it has enhanced their learning skills. Retainment of information is critical and this method offers a solution.
