Ruby Nell Bridges Hall is an American civil rights activist. She was the first African-American child to desegregate the all-white William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis on November 14, 1960. Of the six African American students designated to integrate the school, Bridges was the only one to enroll. We will be diving into Bridges accomplishments from early life to present and all in between. We we also be creating our own paper...
I am a ESL teacher and tutor and I have mentored over 200 teens over the past 6 years through my nonprofit on diversity and current events and continue to lead open group discussions regarding such topics. I also have my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and my Masters of Business Administration.
We will be creating a paper lunch box at the end of our lesson! Supplies needed for this are the following: -Paper multiple sheets and colors (This can include computer paper, construction paper. Multiple color choices if possible not not required) -Coloring materials (Markers, Crayons, colored pencils) -Scissors -Glue Stick (preferred) or Tape ******OPTIONAL************** - precut lunch items printed for easy cutting (apple , juice box, and cookie). Please note though the middle of the lunch items need to be blank for our character traits. -Stickers, clip art cut outs for lunch box decoration if desired.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
