Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello parents, I can't wait to dive into some learning with your little one. I am passionate about making learning interesting for your child. When I was younger I hated reading and I was terrible at it, it wasn't until someone (my dad) helped me learn in a way I could understand and have fun by doing so. I ended up going from the worst reader in class to now a published young adult author and I couldn't imagine a world without books. I apply this same learning experience to how I teach my students, that learning can be fun and everyone can do it.
I am a certified Body Language Trainer through the science of people, a human behavior lab based in Oregon. I have my Bachelors in Psychology, M.A. in health psychology, and finishing up my Ph.D. in Health Psychology. I am also TESOL certified and currently teach English as a second language to non-english speakers to preschool - middle school-aged children. I also have experience in teaching high school to college-aged young adult learners.
My classes incorporate my professional background with my passions. I am certified in body language to coach in confidence, lie detection, public speaking, and more. I love to teach children a fun way they can improve their confidence and better their body language reading skills. I also teach psychology classes and one of my favorites, animal psychology. So your child can be better attuned to not only social interactions with people, but learning the behavior of animals as well!
I can't wait for your child to get that Aha moment feeling, the same one I got when my dad took the time after a long day's work to teach me that reading is fun and I too can do it. They will leave class not realizing it was educational because they had so much fun learning how to be a secret agent who can tell lie detection, or how bees dance to tell their sisters they found food! So without further ado, let's dive in!
