In this third class, children will enjoy listening to and making conversation about the well loved story Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. We will read chapter's 5 and 6 of the story in order to fit in a guided drawing activity of the pony called Merrylegs. Add this drawing to your portfolio of beautiful horse drawings. This class is suitable for all children who have a love for horses, or are just keen to read a fantastic story. This class is also designed to inspire the reluctant reader to become excited to read the rest of the book independently. Sometimes, a child may just need a little nudge to encourage them in this wonderful and lifelong hobby. Black Beauty is an 1877 novel by English author Anna Sewell. It was composed in the last years of her life, during which she remained in her house as an invalid. The novel became an immediate bestseller, with Sewell dying just five months after its publication, long enough to see her first and only novel become a success. With fifty million copies sold, Black Beauty is one of the best-selling books of all time. Whilst it teaches children about animal welfare, it also teaches how to treat people with kindness, sympathy, and respect. BLACK BEAUTY is a story that will never grow old, written from a horse's point of view and is indeed a literary treasure. This class is part of a set of three classes on Black Beauty and horse drawings.
