In this lesson we will learn to identify the six kingdoms of life. We will begin with an overview of why and how scientists organize life. This will include an introduction to taxonomy. We will then examine the six kingdoms in turn (Archeabacteria, Eubacteria, Protista, Plantae, Fungi and Animalia). We will discuss whether Fungi are more like plants or animals.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, I want to share the endless topics of interest contained in biology.
I have a bachelors in environmental science with a major in conservation biology, as well as a bachelors in education. I developed science clubs for after school programs and have worked as a teacher for four years. Although biology is my favourite science I have taught physics, chemistry and earth sciences.
I believe every subject has inherent value. The more we learn about our world, the more we see and engage with our world. I want to help my students see a bit more of their world.
Fun Fact: I love to travel and the pictures I most want to share are the ones I take of insects! I read everything from history and literature to science textbooks and popular fiction.
