In this Ongoing class, our community of future zoologists will explore some amazing animals and their behaviors each week. At the beginning of each session, we will discuss our "bite size science" facts-interesting information (habitats, behaviors, fun facts) about the animal they will draw, as well as view pictures and videos. Each week our little learners will get the opportunity to “think like scientists” by learning fun facts about different kinds of animals...and then have the...
Learners will develop a love for animals and have a basic understanding of zoology by engaging in fun discussion and creating a unique drawing of the chosen animal each week.
I am a 4th grade teacher who is passionate about teaching all things Reading & Language Arts. I am especially passionate about integrating other subjects such as, social studies and science, into my reading lessons. I have a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialty in literacy and bilingual education. I have taught in the public school, private school, and online settings. Teaching little learners about the wonderful world of science is something I am very passionate about.
There will be no homework for this class, but I encourage parents to ask their child what animal they learned about each week.
Supply List: printables (supplied before class) pencil crayons and/or markers
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
