In this one time class, students will learn a few basic nail art techniques to create a layered, holiday ready nail look.
Class experience
Students will first be taught a technique to achieve a smooth coat of polish and will learn a few basic nail terminology words. Students will then use household items (toothpick, back of a watercolor paint brush) or a dotting tool to add design to their nails to create a layered look perfect for any occasion by switching the colors used. 1 file available upon enrollment*3-4 nail polish colors: An all over base color of polish (I used white,) two different colors to make the colored layers (I used a light green and a dark green,) and if wanted a stand out color to make the four leaf clover (I used gray, but the dark color from the layers would work great too.) *a toothpick *the back of a watercolor size paintbrush or something similarly sized OR a dotting tool * something to cover and protect the area you are working on (even a paper towel will work) * a baby wipe or paper towel for clean up * a printable PDF practice sheet (link is provided)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Because of the possible messy nature of nail polish, it is recommended for an adult to be somewhat near, especially with students that don't have a lot of experience painting nails. Per Outschool policy, parents will need to stay off camera. Please be aware of any allergies to any polish ingredients before using.
