This class is a two part class. One part is the education of three different artist and their place in the music industry each week. Each artist has their own place in their genre or many others genres as well. We will discuss their place in history. Part two is about songs and performing songs live. Performing live in front of people is difficult. We will discuss weekly different topics to help any young musician succeed in playing out live. Playing music is an art. Like other kinds of art, practice does help you succeed in your goals. It is something that takes time and patience. My lessons will give encouragement and direction with patience applied. I have a warm approach and an open ear to listen well also. Positive reinforcement, but allowing them to think things through. They can ask questions during class or any time after class via email. I encourage conversation. I am here to help your student enjoy playing and listening to music and succeed in their goals. This class can be started and stopped at any time without needing any of the prior classes.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about three different musicians and their history in the music industry. Students will also learn about the history behind one of each of the musician songs. How it was written or why. Possibly how the song came about. Each song has it's own story we will learn about. After learning about the artist and song, Mr. Joe will perform the song. We then discuss together the performance and what goes into it. We will talk each week about different topics pertaining to performing out live. There are many aspects that go into becoming a performer of live music. This class will help a beginner or a student starting to desire to play out live, and how to succeed.
