Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Beginner Level
No matter where we live or what season it is, birds are all around. They're everywhere singing, showing off bright colors, and performing aerial acrobatics. All of which make birding an easy and rewarding hobby for all ages. This is a great class for students who want to learn how to be a birder or are interested in ornithology.

We will discuss the equipment and skills you will need to have a great time watching birds. The class is lecture and slide-based with room for discussion and questions. All students are welcome.

Students will learn:
- tips for selecting a bird guide that works for them
- how to select the best binoculars, and calibrate them
- new terms to help navigate field guides
-how to find birds and some tips to identify the birds you see
-bird watching etiquette and safety

For more on bird identification or fun facts about birds, check out my other classes. Feel free to reach out to me for more information!
