Biomes: Learn What Lives in a Desert, a Forest, the Ocean and Create a Fun Craft
In this 14 week Flexible Schedule course, students will learn about different biomes and the creatures that live there and complete a fun, coordinating, fine motor skills craft.

Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their understanding of specific creatures that live in specific biomes. Students will improve their fine motor skills with a fun weekly, coordinating craft.
I love nature, exploring, learning and sharing my passions with children. Art and creativity always help me to grow and understand the world around me so I share that with my students.
Students will need these supplies for the weekly craft. Week One: Week One students will need the following craft materials: 1. Printable from the classroom 2. small handful of sand or something that looks like sand (brown sugar, dry dirt, etc) 3. glue 4. crayons, markers or colored pencils 5. One sheet of Light blue construction paper, or child can color in white paper all blue 6. One sheet of Yellow construction paper, or child can color in white paper all yellow 7. One cotton ball 8. Crayons of the following colors: green, red, yellow Week Two students will need: 1. 2 empty toilet paper rolls 2. printable from classroom 3. brown paint 4. paintbrush 5. black magic marker 6. brown crayon 7. 5 pieces of white, black or brown yarn, ribbon or string cut into 3 inch piece 8. Glue 9. Scissors Week Three students will need: 1. One large white paper plate 2. Printable from classroom 3. Black and white paint 4. Paintbrush 5. Red crayon Week Four Students will need: 1. empty egg carton (we will use 3 egg holding sections kept together) 2. Glue 3. Paint, brown and orange 4. Paint brushes 5. printables from classroom 6. Scissors Week Five Students will need: 1. Red tissue paper, or regular red paper if you do not have tissue paper, one sheet 2. Printable from classroom 3. Piece of construction paper or any colored paper of choice to glue printable onto 4. glue 5. handful of rice 6. Green paint 7. Paintbrush 8. Scissors Week Six: 1. Two paper plates 2. Two sheets of brown paper 3. Printable from classroom 4. Brown Paint 5. Black Paint 6. Paintbrush Week Seven: 1. One large paper plate 2. One small paper bowl 3. Black paint 4. Brown paint 5. Two paper towels 6. Glue 7. Printable from classroom Week Eight: 1. One large paper plate 2. Orange paper 3. Glue 4. Printable from classroom 5. Orange Crayon 6. Black Crayon or marker Week Nine 1. One large paper plate 2. One small paper plate 3. Grey paint (can mix black and white to make grey if you do not have) 4. Pink paint 5. Yarn cut into 10 pieces about five inches long each 6. Glue Week Eleven: 1. One half of a large paper plate 2. Printables from classroom 3. Light Blue or grey paint 4. Black paint or black crayon or black marker 5. Scissors 6. Glue Week Twelve: 1. One small paper plate 2. Printables from classroom 3. Grey paint 4. Paintbrush 5. Red crayon 6. Scissors 7. Glue 8. One sheet of blue construction paper 9. white crayon or white colored pencil Week Thirteen: 1. One paper lunch bag 2. One blue or white pipe cleaner 3. White paint 4. Grey or blue paint 5. Paint brush 6. Glue 7. One 12 inch piece of yarn or string 8. Printables from classroom 9. Newspaper or other scrap paper, etc. (enough to stuff the paper bag) Week Fourteen: 1. One paper bowl 2. In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:

No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students may need assistance with various aspects of the crafts. Students will be using scissors and may need adult assistance.
