This class is all about Biomes and ecosystems! This class is hands on and has amazing information for your student to learn Biomes. Class 1 We will cover all the Biomes in the world, what lives in them, the weather and climate there, and what they each look like. I will use videos and information to share these Biomes with your students. At the end, they will choose a Biome they want to re-create in a box. They will build their own Biome in a box by the next class. They can use outside materials, printed things, or whatever they can find to make their Biome look as real as they can. This gets them to be more interactive with hands-on learning. This class is full of info, trivia questions, and discussion. Class 2 We will present our boxes. Next, we will cover a few more Biomes that we did not cover. We will then go over ecosystems in those Biomes and then each student will draw their own ecosystem that goes with their Biome. We will color these and label them together. This class is full of trivia and fun! Overall, your student will leave this class knowing what Biomes exist around the world and having a better understanding of ecosystems around them. I will share the slideshow so they have the information as well to use for their Biome Box.

Materials will be needed for this class. Materials needed: - A shoebox or a smaller box - Supplies for the biome chosen (the list is below to look through) - Markers, crayons, or colored pencils - Printer or construction paper Here is the list of biomes we will cover. If you want to look at them ahead of time and pick the one you want to create, that gives more time to gather supplies for it. I love teaching biomes. I taught this year with my charter school students and they loved creating their own biome and ecosystem. It brought science to life for them and taught them a lot about what is around them in the world.
