Description
Class Experience
Using discussion and lecture, worksheets and diagrams, video clips and microscope study students will learn to answer the question "How do you know if something is alive?". The class will cover the cellular basis of life; and ability of organisms to grow, reproduce, use energy, maintain homeostasis, etc. Viruses will be extensively discussed as they do not fit all of the identifiers of life.
Students will be able to list and describe the main identifiers of living things, and discuss why or why not viruses are alive.
I am a Pennsylvania teacher certified in biology.
