Students will be able to identify and describe the eight characteristics of life. Students will be able to differentiate between living, non-living, and dead entities. Students will be able to apply their knowledge to real-life scenarios using the characteristics of life.

Extension opportunities will be provided for students to work through on there own. With this being a one time class, no homework will be assigned.

Observations of students' participation during discussions and activities will be monitored for misconceptions that need immediate correction. Students' understanding will additionally be assessed with interactive games and quizzes given throughout the lesson.
