Class Experience

Does your child enjoy candy? This might be the class for them. We will be exploring the world of the Scientific Method. We will cover the scientific method and all steps associated with this term. This class is perfect for any student who is looking to get started in Physical Science (the first science class for junior high and science course). The structure of the class includes a powerpoint presentation, a worksheet and a small interactive experiment with a sweet candy item. There will be an interactive lecture, followed with an answer worksheet to review after class, and finally a minor experiment. We will ask the question: "Does Smell relate to Taste?"

We will run down the steps of the scientific method to ensure that we can make questions, make an observation, form a hypothesis, test a hypothesis, analysis hypothesis, and draw conclusions. I like to create an open forum for students and I hope to get students to interact using the sweet item.

Learning Goals

Students will learn the foundation of research and all the steps of scientific method from creating an observation all the way through drawing conclusions.
