Nature is interesting, amazing, and beautiful... but there can be a dark side as well! From a worm that causes ants to betray their colony, to a single-celled parasite that makes rats want to be friends with cats, and a nematode that lives in the scooped-out body of a cricket, this class will teach learners about the bizarre, creepy, and strangely amazing actions of some unique organisms. In this course, students will learn the biology and evolutionary adaptations of creatures that completely change the behaviors and actions of other animals. We will sometimes relate this information to popular movies or video games that have taken inspiration from real-world biology. We use images and video to show the true "yuck" factor of these unique behaviors. If you enjoy nature, animals, biology, evolution, or just science in general, you might enjoy learning about some real-life creepy zombies!

Parental Guidance
This course uses images of real-world animals that do some amazing things. Some of these may be considered disgusting, but this course encourages learners to embrace these actions and the science behind them as interesting in their own ways.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
