This session will explore the immune response and antibody (Ab) function. We will discuss the structure of the Ab molecule and its binding specificity. We will learn about monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies and antibody drugs. Monoclonal antibodies are an important niche in the biopharmaceutical industry. We will explore examples of antibodies approved by the FDA and students will select an antibody of interest for individual mini project. Welcome to my class!

With over 15 years of experience teaching high school and college-level biology and chemistry in both one-on-one and classroom settings, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom. My background includes over a decade of hands-on research experience as a PhD and postdoctoral fellow (UofT and McMaster university) and 9 peer-reviewed publications.
