Class Experience

In this one-time class, you will learn about symbiotic (mutually beneficial) relationships among plants and animals in Nova Scotia, Canada. The class will cover the range of interactions from parasitic to commensalism. Some plants cannot exist without fungus or invertebrates and vice versa. This class will cover symbiotic relationships of lady slippers, pitcher plants, lupins, wild peas, lichen, and even whales! So many things only exist with mutual beneficial ties to other things. In addition to symbiosis, we will have a look at some basic geological processes in Nova Scotia. It's neat to think of various organisms working together in a 'friendly' way for both to benefit!
No homework will be assigned.
No resources required.
Learner will not be assessed.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
