This class is for 1:1 instruction or tutoring. This class can help aid a student taking Biology at school or it can serve as a stand-alone class. We will cover topics that the student needs to review or wants to cover. There may be homework depending on how the student does with the material. The lessons will be student-directed since this is a private tutoring session. I do expect students to come to class prepared each week. They will need a notebook for taking any notes. There are a few good options for a textbook if you want your student to have reading assignments. Topics that we might cover include but are not limited to DNA/RNA, photosynthesis, evolution, the chemistry of life, etc. I also teach from an evolutionary perspective.

Hello!
UPDATE: I am taking a break from Outschool. After the spring semester of 2024 ends, I will take a hiatus.
I offer a variety of science and math classes. I have close to ten years of teaching experience. I've worked with students of all ages including young adults. I experience teaching in the classroom and teaching virtually. I have a B.A. from Louisiana State University.
I've helped tutoring student reach their goals whether it's to pass a standardized test or get a passing grade in a course.
I think that a basic understanding of science enhances one's life. It opens up a world hidden to most people. Studying science and math helps children to develop critical thinking skills that can be applied to all areas of life. My goal in all my classes is to inspire the students to study science. I want them to always ask questions and to stay curious.

When I am not teaching or prepping for classes, I enjoy crafting, reading, working out, and spending time with my dog.
