In this one time course, students will hear a popular children’s book in both Mandarin and English, and learn the colors, numbers, the days of the week, food names, the life cycle of a butterfly, phrases and more in both languages.
Class experience
Research shows that learning another language can be extremely beneficial for young learners. Children exposed to a second language have enhanced concentration, improved memory, and better listening skills. Traditional/Simplified words will be introduced from the story. Topics, such as numbers, colors, food names, days of the week, and the butterfly life cycle will be covered. Students will hear a bilingual reading of a popular children’s book and review the topics of colors, numbers, food names, days of the week, the life cycle of a butterfly and a few phrases in Mandarin. The one-time class will be taught in English and Mandarin, allowing students to understand and follow along.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
