Bilingual Buddies Spanish Club
Embark on a captivating linguistic adventure with Sra. Kimberly’s Spanish class tailored for young learners aged 6 to 10. Sra. Kimberly’s dynamic sessions offer a delightful mix of games, interactive exercises, and engaging activities that make learning Spanish an enjoyable experience. Her classes are designed to introduce children to the basics of the language in a friendly and supportive environment. Through storytelling and creative projects, kids will develop their vocabulary, pronunciation, and comprehension skills while having a blast. Whether they're taking their first steps in Spanish or already have a foundation, Sra. Kimberly teaches all children with a joy of nurturing a lifelong love for language and cultural exploration. On Mondays or Saturdays, join Sra. Kimberly and buddies from around the globe, then watch your child's confidence in Spanish flourish!

Beginner Level
I will teach this class, intended for novice young learners new to learning Spanish, by using repetition and comprehensible input. Topics covered include introductions, greetings, courtesy phrases, colors, numbers, shapes, positional words, classroom vocabulary, feelings, likes/dislikes, body parts, family members, holidays and celebrations, leisure activities, calendar, seasons, weather, clothing, animals, food, and personal characteristics. Whether your learner is a true beginner or enrolled in a Spanish immersion/dual language program, this class will keep them engaged each week! The cultural focus will be on the celebrations of independence throughout Latin America. We sing songs, dance, draw, act, and have fun with buddies around the world who are curious and eager to learn and practice speaking, reading, writing, and listening in Spanish! This is an ongoing course with a subscription for classes that meet once a week. If you are unable to attend, you can request the recording. If you are absent for three consecutive weeks, your subscription will be stopped, but you are welcome to re-enroll at any time.

Students will learn new vocabulary, essential verbs, words and phrases, and have fun while learning Spanish with learners from around the world.

Supply List
Enrolled learners will receive the materials in advance to have time to print. If you do not have a printer, that is ok. Materials can be viewed online in PDF format. Students should have a supply box with: pencils, crayons or colored pencils or markers, highlighters, glue, scissors. Earbuds/headphones are optional.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Sra. Kimberly is a multicultural specialist, world language educator, writer, public speaker, and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. Since 2001, her experience includes teaching K-12 Spanish, English as a Second Language (ESL), Students with Interrupted Formal Education, and Bilingual Special Education/Exceptional Children. During these years, Kimberly was also an adjunct instructor of ESL/TESOL, English for Academic Purposes, and participated in educational research. Studying world languages, traveling to discover cultures around the world, reading, writing, and collecting foreign currency are some of her favorite things. As a lifelong learner, Sra. Kimberly is currently pursuing an EdD in educational leadership.
