Enter at your own risk. Only brave souls should sign up for this escape experience. The challenges will be very difficult and teamwork will be needed if you are to survive. Your fun adventure turned dangerous on the very first night of your camping trip with friends. You had just put out the fire after cooking hot dogs and then, of course, delicious S'mores. Everyone settled into their tents and then zipped up in their sleeping bags for a great night's sleep in the fresh, mountain air. That sleep was suddenly interrupted by loud footsteps in the distance. The footsteps get closer and louder. A short, loud grunt rings out into the night. You peek through the tent flaps....IT'S BIGFOOT! This fun, fast-paced escape room faces learners with five tricky puzzles. First, the team must open a camp lock box. Next, the team must decipher a strange map. After that, the group must find something buried next to a lake and use it for the next challenge to open a gate. Finally, if you don't get stomped first, the brave team will be faced with the task of getting into the Ranger Station to call for help. Be sure you arrive on time for class because we must start right away on this adventure. The backstory is told, directions and tips are given, and then the timer is started. After 7-8 minutes we will have started the adventure, so there is no time to waste.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Social Studies/History
I have always been very curious and creative and I love to inspire it in kids (both my own and others) as well. I like to teach through projects, which give students a choice on the way they learn and show their understanding. I also love to teach through games and like to combine game elements in my classes.
I believe history, studied in context, to be extremely important. In fact, it's one of our best teachers. The other "subject" I believe to be of high importance is Logic. Unfortunately, logic has long been left off most curriculums. Knowing how to examine events and history through logical thinking and analysis gives us a deep, true understanding of our world.
I'm a big believer in every parent having all the need to school their children all the way through high school. So, if you are ever in doubt, let me encourage you.
My educational consulting company, It's A Potsick Education, exists to build up curious, creative learners. I do custom content/lesson design, private, online events, consulting, and more. Message me for anything you need.
I was a classroom teacher in the public schools for over 15 years and, for the past 14 years, have been helping my wife homeschool as well. I currently hold state certifications in Florida (certificate # 960883) in the areas of Middle Grades Social Science and Language Arts and Elementary Education. I have extensive classroom experience with all Elementary and Middle Grades subject content and have done private tutoring for many years in Math, Civics, Science, and Language Arts.
Contact me anytime to share any classes you would like me teach, for classes you really wanted to take, but didn't fit your schedule, or any feedback.
