In this five week course we will be reading and diving deep into The City of Ember with a Certified Elementary Teacher.
Class experience
US Grade 3 - 6
In this multi-day class we will be discussing the book The City of Ember. Learners will be responsible for getting a copy of the book and reading the assigned pages for our class. Each learner will be required to have their own copy of the book. As a group we will dive deep into a respectful conversation of the assigned reading. All students will be given an opportunity to respond and discuss the characters and events in the story. We will not be reading this book during the class all...
Students will learn to discuss a book in-depth and be able to use the key reading skills to enhance the discussion.
I am a classroom teacher with 17 years of experience. I am currently certified in Elementary (K-6), and Special Education (K-12). I also have a reading endorsement to help struggling readers.
Homework Offered
Each week learners will be assigned a reading to do for the following week. When you sign up you will get the initial assignment. There will not be anymore then 60 pages to read each week or a little over 7 pages a night.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

The City of Ember is age appropriate for learners. Books that are violent or sexual in nature or discuss a sensitive political issue will not be discussed.
