Students will learn to discuss a book in-depth and be able to use the key reading skills to enhance the discussion.
I am a classroom teacher with 17 years of experience. I am currently certified in Elementary (K-6), and Special Education (K-12). I also have a reading endorsement to help struggling readers.
Each week learners will be assigned a reading to do for the following week. When you sign up you will get the initial assignment. There will not be anymore then 60 pages to read each week or a little over 7 pages a night.
Each learner needs their own copy of The City of Ember.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
The City of Ember is age appropriate for learners. Books that are violent or sexual in nature or discuss a sensitive political issue will not be discussed.
