Like Sudoku, Skyscrapers (sometimes also called "Towers") is a fun and engaging puzzle that promotes attention to detail, logical thinking and decision-making skills that are essential for higher level mathematics and science. I'm both a math teacher and a fan of Skyscrapers! I enjoy using puzzles and logic games to teach students the critical thinking skills necessary for higher level math and science.
A PDF document of Skyscraper puzzles will be provided in the classroom upon enrollment. Students should print these puzzles in advance of the class and have them ready. Students will also need a sharp pencil and an eraser. In order to make the abstract puzzle more concrete, it is helpful — not not required— to have 25-40 small stackable objects such as LEGOs, pennies, counting cubes, dice, etc.
