-Connect with other students who share their passion
In my role as a youth group leader, I have spent a great deal of time working with high school students as they discern their next steps after high school. As a military childcare regional manager, I conducted interviews & training with numerous recent high school graduates & college students pursuing child-related careers. I have personally been employed in a wide variety of fields with children (licensed childcare, Head Start, special education preschool, public elementary schools, camp counselor, churches, nanny service, etc.), & through those positions have worked with quite a few other child-related professionals (librarians, coaches, entertainment professionals, social workers, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, child abuse investigators, etc.). I am able to share personal experience as well as insight gained from interviews with a variety of these professionals.
