Class Experience

** NOTE: Please ensure that your child has their own copy of these books/comics - either the graphic novels or the individual comic issues, both are fine! (If you are an Amazon Prime member, they are also available via Kindle Unlimited.) **

Beware the kitten holy! In this Lumberjanes social book club, fans of all stripes will meet up with their very own camp counselor Jen to talk about the Lumberjanes comics and related series, and all the amazing adventures at Miss Quinzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types.

This is NOT a traditional book club but a fun, casual, weekly opportunity for learners to meet up and hang out with fellow Lumberjanes fans. We will discuss the comic issues according to the schedule below, and learners are welcome to drop in and out any week! No homework or previous knowledge is required, but beware of spoilers if you’re not caught up with this week’s reading! :)

This social book club will be a place of flexible, fun, and open discussion - learners will be given the opportunity to share their own opinions on the books and storylines, and ask their own questions.

Learners will also be encouraged (though not required!) to create their own Lumberjanes badge designs, fan art, fan fiction storylines, alternate covers, etc., and share them with the group (should they feel comfortable).

Learning Goals

Learners will create new friendships with the other members of their “cabin”, and discuss topics like friendship, loyalty, bravery, and other characteristics and experiences found in the Lumberjanes books.
