In this tried and tested, 4 day class, we will be discussing and learning important knowledge and skills needed to be Better Baby Sitters. Learners will enjoy hands on activities, role play while interacting with other learners.

Class Experience

In our classes we will discuss:
Week 1: We will navigate topics such as Sitter Professionalism, Job Information, Safety Information and will have fun putting this information together by practicing interviewing skills with each other.  Role play for willing participants will be part of the learning process
Week 2: We will explore and practice empowerment skills by understanding what could make them feel uncomfortable in someone's else home. We will also discuss topics such as how to keep...

Learners will feel more confident about what questions to ask hiring parents
Learners will feel more confident about when and how to discuss their fee to babysit
Learners will feel more confident knowing about activities and safety issues specific to each age group
Learners will understand the importance of knowing how to call or when to call in case of an emergency
Learners will feel more confident know how and how to market their services to another family by creating an informative but self-protecting flyer
Learners will understand and be able to verbalize how to speak up to an adult if anything makes them feel uncomfortable
Learners will be able to demonstrate  how to change and feed babies 
Learners will know where to find accurate videos on CPR and First Aid and what to put into a First Aid kit

Each learner will be given an age group. (Infant- School Age). The learner will be required to make an arts and crafts project for the assigned age group. This assignment can be done with simple arts and crafts materials found around the house.  Most  of our learners enjoy this activity.  Projects will be presented during the last class of the session.

3 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
