In this one-week camp, we'll make simple snacks and fun crafts using easy-to-find ingredients and supplies. Each day, we will feature a different beginner-friendly recipe and corresponding craft. I specifically chose recipes that are easy, quick, and minimize the use of the oven/stove for younger learners. Learners will follow along with me as I take them step by step through the recipe and craft. Here's what's on the menu: Day 1 Recipe: Piñata Cookies Craft: Paper Bag Piñatas Day...
I will post the ingredient/supply list in the classroom the Friday before each class.
5 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
While many cooking skills can be taught through online instruction, parents/guardians are best to determine their child's comfort and skill in the kitchen. My goal is to build upon what they already know...safely. If you have any questions about whether your child's skill level is appropriate for a particular class, don't hesitate to reach out. *Recipes for this course are designed for younger learners (age 8-12) in mind. However, some will require the use of the microwave (the oven at times) or sharp tools (We will use plastic or butter knives only). Parental guidance is suggested for these portions of the class. *As you will be responsible for providing ingredients for this class, please be sure to check all food label ingredients for potential allergens. *Craft supplies will comprise mostly of things you probably have around the house already. Any other supplies can be found at your local supermarket or craft store.
