A sister circle is an opportunity for girls to connect with other girls in a safe, judgement free space where they can speak and be heard. In this circle we'll be focusing on our belief in ourselves and our dreams through the life of Amelia Earhart. We’ll be focused on her attitude and spirit. Looking closer at how she chose to believe in herself and her dreams despite what society told her was possible or appropriate for a woman. "Some of us have great runways already built for us. If you have one, take off. But if you don't have one, realize it is your responsibility to grab a shovel and build one for yourself and for those who will follow after you." ~Amelia Earhart This is an opportunity for young girls from different places around the country (or even the world) to sit face to face with each other (while in the comfort of their own home) and share about their dreams and to boost their belief in themselves. The circle will begin with gentle seated movements to ground us in our bodies and focus our attention in the present moment. We will take a moment to do introductions so we can get to know each other better, and set our agreements for the circle. We will be introduced to Amelia Earhart and discuss her life and how her lessons can be translated into our own lives. Each girl will have the opportunity to speak and give her thoughts on the reflection questions. One of the biggest values of the circle is this opportunity to speak openly without judgement. This is a space to speak and be heard. Once everyone has had the opportunity to speak we will close the circle with a short meditation.
Learning Goals
Participants will be learning about the power of their belief in themselves and their dreams.
They will be introduced to the life of Amelia Earhart.
They will learn energy balancing movements that can be used at anytime.
They will be introduced to meditation practices.
They will learn self-reflection and they will be given the opportunity to speak their opinions and beliefs on open-ended questions.
They will learn deep listening as we intently listen to each sisters share.

I have been leading women's circles for a few years and am very excited to bring this work to a younger audience. I have often wished I learned these things when I was younger. I also have a background of leading mind-body-spirit movement classes and the circle aspect was one of the most enjoyable parts of the class.
