Students are highly encouraged interact and to ask questions. Students are welcome to ask personal self-esteem, confidence and motivation questions throughout the class as it relates to each topic (when they are comfortable) as we discuss them together. As the teacher I will do my best to be encouraging and supportive with the student. If the student has questions, they are encouraged to send them before the class (the day before at latest) and at the end of the class by private message. The objective of this class is to set the foundation for absorbing the information provided in class to be successful in taking the first steps to building self-esteem, confidence and motivation. This class aims to motivate students to start developing their self-esteem, confidence and that will motivate them. This class has a limited number of students because some students may be shy or uncomfortable with larger groups of students. This will give them the freedom to be open to engaging and asking questions. This class is taught using PowerPoint, activities and affirmations as well as suggested activities after class to encourage the learner to explore more information and start applying what was learned during the class in their everyday life. Why is Motivation, Self-Esteem and Confidence important? A young person with healthy self-esteem and confidence is more likely to display positive behavioral characteristics, such as: acting independent, being more mature, and it will motivate them to do their best and take pride in their accomplishments and achievements. This class will discuss the following topics of significance to self-esteem, confidence and motivation: 1. Being mindful of your self-talk 2. Recognize and accept your strengths 3. Having a Growth Mindset: A sense of power 4. Understanding why comparing yourself is damaging 5. Creating a Sense of Belonging 6. Having and Imitating Positive Role Models This course is the short version of a future longer course so students can get a feel for the course.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of motivation, self-esteem and confidence and why it is important to tap in and enhance them in their life.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Illinois Teaching Certificate in English to Speakers of Other Languages
I am a certified life and success coach and I have helped individuals from tweens to adult develop motivation, self-esteem and confidence to be successful and have greater sense of self worth. I understand that for young students it can be a very touchy subject and needs to be approached in a way that encourages them to see themselves as someone that has high motivation, self-esteem and confidence. Again this develops more and more over time with encouragement and positive feedback.
