In this class, students will improve their understanding of how to properly structure an essay.
Class Experience
Students are required to view "Star Wars: A New Hope," (1977) before the class begins. In the class, we will discuss key themes in the movie, characters, its impact on the industry, and other content followed by examples, using Star Wars to structure their essay. The teaching approach is designed to keep them engaged through slides and discussion. The goal is to place the themes within a contemporary context in order to make them relevant and timely. Critical thinking skills will be improved...
Students will improve their understanding of how to properly structure an essay. This will be achieved by modifying their current approach 'the hamburger model', which will elevate the quality of their writing including: 1) a strong and broad introduction 2) a clear thesis 3) Transitional sentences and much, more.
I have been teaching essay writing at the university level for years. In addition, I designed and taught a course for a private college on Mass Media which included examination of Star Wars.
