Class Experience
In this class, we will use the book Ruby the Copycat to introduce basic comprehension skills readers use to successfully read a text. The class will encourage interaction among students and the teacher as we dig into the book. This class is great for all reading levels because it will be in a read-aloud/ discussion format. Class format: During our time together we will cover the following items. 1. What is the book about? 2. Making predictions based on pictures 3. Sharing our thinking...
The students will learn how to critically look at a text and make predictions before reading to help strengthen their comprehension skills.
Your student should have a writing utensil as well as paper
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
