Class Experience

Hi, I’m Lila, a registered behavioral technician and psychology enthusiast. In this course, you will become a Behavior Detective and learn why we act the way we do.

Behavior Detectives is a fun and interactive course that introduces tweens to the fascinating world of psychology and human behavior. You will:

Explore topics such as the brain, motivation, reinforcement, and observational learning
Play games, do experiments, watch videos, and solve mysteries
Apply your knowledge to your own behavior and the behavior of others
Develop critical thinking, self-awareness, and problem-solving skills

Week 1: Introduction to Psychology
Learn what psychology is and why it matters
Discuss the basics of behavior and how to study it

Week 2: The Brain and Behavior
Explore how the brain influences behavior
Do fun brain-related activities and experiments

Week 3: Motivation and Reinforcement
Understand what motivates us and how we can change our behavior
Discuss how rewards and punishments affect our actions

Week 4: Observational Learning and Wrap-Up
Discover how we learn from observing others and how that shapes our behavior
Review key concepts and play a detective-themed game

I teach and tutor at Outschool! I’m a TEFL-certified English and ESL teacher with a degree in psychology, and I also work as a registered behavioral technician (RBT). My experience includes helping children with disabilities such as autism learn new skills. I’m passionate about teaching and learning, and I’m excited to share this passion with you and your child!

I teach because I believe that learning is a lifelong journey that enriches our lives and opens new possibilities. Learning should be fun and enjoyable, not boring or stressful. My goal is for students to leave each lesson feeling better than they did before and to feel empowered to achieve whatever they put their minds to.
