Beginning/Intermediate Spanish ~ Las Comidas, La Casa, y Lugares Ages 7-12. This Spanish Class is geared for a beginner/ intermediate level. The student should have knowledge of basic vocabulary such as numbers 1-20, the Spanish alphabet and the vowels, colors, and greetings. We will review these and also learn to read, write, and converse using sentences. About 60% of this class is taught in Spanish and there are words that we use in every class that guide us in transitioning from one activity to another. For example: calentamiento/warm-up, tarea/homework, repaso/review. Learning Goals: Students will work towards conversing with fluidity in Spanish. They will work on comprehension, grammar and pronunciation, read, and much more! Through immersion and practice; we'll sing in Spanish, use repetition, converse, watch engaging videos, dance, and hear wonderful stories. Activities in each lesson will scaffold, building on previous lessons and will ensure learners are interested and engaged while I gradually add vocabulary and new concepts to their knowledge. General class structure: 5 minute introduction, 10 minute vocabulary, 10 minutes of practice, 15 minutes of discussion/presentation, 5 minute conversation, 5 minute reflection/closure. Students will RETAIN their acquired language skills to become CONFIDENT SPANISH SPEAKERS! Please note: I must have at least four learners enrolled. Weekly Schedule (subject to change): Week 1: REVIEW: School, Days of the Week, Months, Seasons Week 2: REVIEW: Grammar - Verbs, Personal Pronouns, and Tenses, Conversations Week 3: Food, Table Setting, Reading Comprehension Week 4: Animals, Commands with "Tu", Clothing, Week 5: Time, My House Week 6: Places, Spelling Week 7: REVIEW, Rhymes Week 8: Occupations Week 9: Conversations Week 10: Rhymes and Commands with "Tu" Week 11: REVIEW, Spelling Week 12: Culmination Week

Parental Guidance
When I teach Spanish, I have a Mexican accent. It is very different than the accent from Spain. I do not teach that but do have conversations with my students about the different accents and how vocabulary changes accordingly from country to country.
Supply List
This class will use Spanish Workbook #4 and Mexican Hot Cocoa. I may ask you to print out some PDF's. Total cost for the workbook and materials: $17. If this is an issue, please reach out to me and I will happily make accommodations.
