In this course students will learn about the power of one's breath, mindfulness, basic yoga moves and proper body alignment for safe and effective practice. No prior experience is necessary; just a genuine willingness to learn and have fun. My professional training is in the YogaFit® style while my personal experience is largely in Bikram. Yoga is something one can do anywhere, at any time, even a beach towel will do if a yoga mat is not accessible. Learning even the basics of this ancient practice can bring energy and relaxation to the body.
I am a certified yoga instructor and have taught yoga to children for several years.
While not necessary, a yoga mat can be helpful as well as wearing comfortable clothes.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
With any physical activity, I like to advise parent(s)/guardian (s) of any potential hazards (including, but not limited to, needing an open workout space, being barefoot, bringing a water bottle if needed, and adequate stretching beforehand) as well as injuries that can occur if not properly supervised.
