This class, taught by a professional violinist, is for students who have completed a beginning course and want to further develop their skills. We will focus on playing beautiful songs, such as Ode To Joy, while advancing our technique.
Class experience
The violin is an instrument that reaches the heart with its melodious and warm sound. But it is also an instrument that can put you to dance with its virtuosic runs and scales! I am so glad that you have chosen to learn to play this beautiful instrument!
In this class, students will master the skills they learned in the "Beginning Violin Level 1" class (tuning, bow hold, left-hand notes, and smooth bow strokes) as they play pieces on all four strings. Learning will happen...Students will master the techniques learned in the previous class. They will be proficient at playing on all four strings with a good tone. Foundational techniques such as scales will be introduced, and practicing skills will be emphasized. They will also learn new techniques such as ties, slurs, and martelé bow stroke.
I am a professional musician and a State-Certified K-12 Music teacher based in Miami, Florida. I hold a Master’s Degree in Music Education and a Bachelor's in Violin Performance from Florida International University.
I have worked with pre-school and school-aged children for over five years, and have taught group music lessons as well as private music lessons to hundreds of students.
