* PLEASE NOTE* — This class will use the same videos as my Beginning Violin Level 1 (Part 1) Flex class for 8 to 12-year-olds! To better serve my students, I created two of the same class but split each into separate age-appropriate groups. This Beginning Violin Class (PART 1) is a basic, but thorough, introduction to the instrument taught by a State-Certified music educator and professional violinist. It is designed to teach students from the very beginning with...
Learners will learn to play in pizzicato and with the bow. They will also learn how to read basic rhythms and notes. As a final project, students will perform "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", "Hot Cross Buns" and "Old Macdonald Had a Farm".
I am offering this course because teaching violin is my passion. It is the instrument I love most and know most about, and I feel it is my calling to pass both my knowledge and love for this amazing instrument to others. I am a professional musician and a State-Certified K-12 Music teacher based in Miami, Florida. I hold a Master’s Degree in Music Education and a Bachelor's in Violin Performance from Florida International University. I have worked with pre-school and school-aged children for over five years, and have taught group music lessons as well as private music lessons to hundreds of students. I am passionate about passing on the love and knowledge I have for music to all of my students.
The homework will consist of practicing the techniques and pieces learned in class.
-Students will need the “Essential Elements Method Book 1” for violin which is $6.35. -A violin that comes with a Shoulder Rest, Rosin, and Strings is available on Amazon for $70, but you could also find cheaper ones online. I would recommend having an instrument stand, which will make practicing easier and more comfortable ($11.98). -Violin Tapes in the size of the student's violin.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
