This class will show your child the beginning steps of video editing using their Ipad or Iphone. Children will learn how to use an editing program to create their own videos to share with friends and family. They will be able to use the mobile editing program FilmoraGo find and use the various tools available, cut and trim clips, add music and sounds, create titles, add special effects and more as they create their own videos to share with others. This class will be hands-on and students will be encouraged to practice with me as we learn each skill and explore the program on their own. During the final class, all students will have the opportunity to share the video that they have created with the class. Optional: If your child is interested in uploading their videos to YouTube, please let me know and I will help your child with this process, including creating a thumbnail and video description. Please note: It is recommended that students have basic technology skills for this course. If your child does not know the basics of using a phone or Ipad or needs assistance with typing words, I encourage you to sit with your child during class time to help them until they are able to complete tasks independently.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I am Mrs. Angelica and I teach Kindergarten. My two favorite subjects to teach are Reading and Math. It is a joy for me to work with young students and help them learn the foundations that they will need to succeed throughout school and life. It is an even bigger joy to teach these foundations in two languages!
I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) and Bilingual Education (Spanish). I also have a Master's Degree in Education with an endorsement in Teaching Reading. I began teaching kindergarten at a Dual Language Charter School here in my hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2006. If you are not familiar with Dual Language schools, we teach our students in both English and Spanish. Half of the day we give instruction in English and the other half, instruction is done in Spanish. Teaching in this environment has its challenges, but I believe any type of progress is something to be proud of.
Everyone learns differently and at a different pace. The most important thing to me is progress. A child may not be where they are expected to be or meeting standards, but it is the process and the progress that matters. I am always proud of my students each time they show me they've gotten a little closer to mastering a concept, whether it is growing from knowing letters to reading or starting with no letter knowledge to knowing 5 letters. Each time my students demonstrate that they've learned something, I am excited for them and I make sure they are excited and proud of themselves. I always do what I can to help them continue to learn more and share their progress with them because I know in my heart that they can succeed at anything they want and I want them to know that too!
Teaching keeps me pretty busy, but when I'm not in the classroom or spending time with my husband and fur babies (my two Chihuahuas), I have quite a few hobbies to fill up the extra time. The first is I am a professional Folklorico dancer (Mexican/Spanish style), I started dancing when I was three years old and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Another hobby I enjoy is video editing and I recently started a YouTube channel for my travel/Disney vlogs. I love to travel, but Walt Disney World is my favorite vacation spot, mostly because I have a blast every time I visit, but I also used to work there. Let's just say Mickey Mouse is one of my best friends!
