This class will show your child the beginning steps of video editing. Children will learn how to use an editing program to create their own videos to share with friends and family. They will be able to upload videos into the computer and program, find and use the various tools available, cut and trim clips, add music and sounds, create titles, add special effects and more as they create their own videos to share with others. This class will be hands-on and students will be encouraged to practice with me as we learn each skill and explore the program on their own. During the final class, all students will have the opportunity to share the video that they have created with the class. Optional: If your child is interested in uploading their videos to YouTube, please let me know and I will help your child with this process, including creating a thumbnail and video description. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The computer program we use to edit WILL NOT work on a Chromebook or mobile device (iPhone, iPad, tablet, etc.) It is recommended that students have basic computer skills for this course. If your child does not know how to click and drag objects or needs assistance with typing words, I encourage you to sit with your child during class time to help them until they are able to complete tasks independently.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Ever since I took a short video editing class in college, video editing has been one of my favorite hobbies. For years I have been creating home videos in my free time. When I became a teacher, I began creating video yearbooks for my kindergarten classes and a few years ago even started a YouTube channel to share my love of Disney and travel videos with others.
