Description

Class Experience

Students will learn:
The basics parts of the ukulele
How to hold a ukulele
How to tune a ukulele (with parent support)
How to play different chords
How to do different strumming patterns
How to read basic ukulele tablature
How to play a song on the ukulele and sing along

Students will be selecting a song of their choice to lead on the last day of class. A list of songs with links on youtube will be provided. It is recommended that students practice between classes.
Students will need a ukulele and a tuner for this class. I recommend Soprano or Concert size ukuleles for kids. Soprano is a bit smaller than the concert size. I also recommend a Snark tuner (they seem to work the best), but other tuners are fine. Having the Ukulele pre-tuned is helpful, but not necessary. Your child may need help with tuning during the first class, as new ukuleles will be very out of tune. New ukuleles also will need to be tuned more often at first, as the strings stretch.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
