In this class, students will engage in creating rhyming words, listening to rhyming stories, and playing rhyming games. This phonological awareness skill helps to build the foundations needed to be a successful reader and writer. My class is structured so that students respond frequently and various activities are planned so that students' attention does not falter. I require total physical response so that students stay emerged in the lesson. Additionally, I have a PowerPoint that is shared during the lesson so students can begin making the visual connection as well as the auditory component of rhyming words.
