Class Experience
Does your child know letters and sounds? Are they ready to learn how to put the sounds together to read words? In this one-time class learners will tap letter sounds and blend the sounds to read three letter words. We will begin with a vowel sound review and a reminder that all words contain vowels. I will then model how to tap individual sounds and how to blend the sounds. Students will be guided to blend sounds of letters to read words. They will also have guided and independent practice...
Students will improve their ability to blend sounds to read words. They will demonstrate their learning as they play a board game with three letter words.
It will be helpful but not necessary for learners to have a white board and dry erase marker.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
