Description
Class Experience
An introductory course for beginners! This is an excellent class to for getting students curious and interested in leaning Spanish. Students will learn by hearing, seeing, and repeating Spanish words as well as phrases. Additionally, we will also be learning songs in Spanish (Le Mer, La Bamba, Los Colores, etc). Students will become comfortable speaking basic conversational Spanish and learn a few songs in Spanish as well as the history behind them.
Spanish was my first language and I have been working with bilingual children (and their parents) for over 15 years. I wrote a bilingual play (for children) that was set in Mexico, filled with music and dance. I have also tutored and taught conversational Spanish. My classes are fun and memorable!
Homework is optional. It will be to practice speaking and singing the lyrics. The information is on the syllabus.
This is an enrichment class, you need is your voice (your musical instrument). Song lyrics are included in the syllabus and some can be found on youtube links which I will provide.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learner progress is assessed in the display of confidence in speaking and singing in Spanish, using the vocabulary words that have been introduced, and in singing.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
I live on a homestead in Vermont. If the power ever goes out (it's very rare as we have a back up generator), please understand. I will accommodate your schedule and hold a make up class. This is highly unlikely but need to share this with you.
