Are you interested in starting your child in an immersive environment to learn Spanish?  This class is the place!  We will do a variety of activities almost completely in Spanish.  We will have a brief introduction that will introduce some of the important vocabulary for the class (we may use English to give the students a way to build comprehension).  Then, the teacher will only speak Spanish.  The class will try to accommodate as many of the individual needs as possible.  The class topics will be determined each week by current events/timely subjects, student requests, or things that I have noticed in the previous class.  

The activities will be pretty basic. First, I will introduce the topic of the day in English and activate the prior knowledge on the topic.  Then, we will learn some basic vocabulary and start practicing in Spanish.  Students may ask questions and clarify in English as necessary, but I will try to keep most of my communication in Spanish.  Some of the activities may be directed drawings or other activities that involved following simple instructions.  The class will include lots of repetition and opportunities for the students to practice the target vocabulary.  This will not be full immersion as the class size is smaller and we do not have access to many of the learning tools for a true immersion experience (bilingual pairs, daily routines, etc.)  I recommend that students have a notebook (or section of a notebook) available to write down the vocabulary.
