Beginner Level
This class is a continuation of "Beginning Singing Lessons for Young Singers I," however, learners are not required to have taken Beginning Singers I for this class. New singers are welcome to jump in to this class! This class is designed for young singers aged 6-8, but is also appropriate for older singers who need help with intonation, rhythm, and sight-reading. What's the difference between Part I and Part II? Beginning Singing Lessons for Young Singers II will focus more on rhythm reading, along with mastering the basic scale degrees through ear training. Young singers will receive musical training consisting of fun technique warmups, short songs, and musical concepts such as rhythm, pitch recognition and solfegge (the Do-Re-Mi scale system) and performance. We will learn 3 new songs in this section. Young singers will have the opportunity multiple times in each class to demonstrate what they've learned for the teacher and other classmates and practice along while others are demonstrating. Each class time incorporates physical movement, ear training, technique, rhythm, and performance. A downloadable packet includes coloring sheets related to warmups, song text, solfeggio, a musical bookmark, and certificate of completion.
