Class Experience

-Ability to thread a sewing machine correctly
-Ability to name parts of the sewing machine
-Ability to sew a straight and curved line as well as turn a sharp corner
-Knowledge of other essential sewing tools and how to use them
-Ability to cut fabric for a pattern
-Ability to make a simple sewing project
Practice skills learned after each lesson
 1 file available upon enrollment
Sewing machine A few spools of all-purpose thread Empty Bobbins Fabric Scissors Cotton or muslin fabric for practicing Seam ripper Pins Iron Ironing Board Measuring tape Cotton fabric for the projects -Scraps can be used for the coasters -3/4 yard for the tote bag
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Optional quizzes
2 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parents will need to be available to monitor lessons 3, 4, 5, and 6 specifically due to the use of an iron.
