Class Experience

During this 5-week course, students will meet twice a week to learn and practice Russian grammar, vocabulary, conversation, reading and writing skills. On the first class of each week, the new learning materials will be introduced and practiced together. Homework assignments will be due before the second class of the week. On the second class of the week, we will go over the homework together and further practice the materials by doing interactive activities, games, and quizzes. With a complex language like Russian, it is crucial to be able to understand and correctly use newly learned grammatical structures and vocabulary before moving to the next topic hence the two-classes-a-week approach. Reading, practicing dialogues, and writing will be a part of every class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I first started teaching when I was still a student in the Russian University. I majored in Linguistics and English Philology. I moved to the United States over 18 years ago. Over the years, I have taught in different public school and charter school settings and given private and group lessons in Russian and ESL. I have also been homeschooling my own children for over 12 years now. I love to learn about different cultures and I believe that learning a foreign language can help us better understand a foreign culture and people.
