In this class, we will learn the first very basic beat on drum set that you can play on hundreds of songs right away! And then it can grow from there!!! We will start with the parts of the drum set, then learn to properly hit the bass drum. Next, we will learn proper stick technique for hitting the snare drum and Hi hat cymbals. We will learn to count out the notes and then put all of it together to play them together. By the end of class, we will learn how many songs you can play that beat to!
Practicing everything we learn in class and you will get better faster. Each week we will do a short review of the previous weeks lesson and then move on to a new skill. The more home practicing that is done, the easier it will be to get started on playing along to real songs! Fifteen minutes a day!Learning Goals

I am a professional drummer who lives in Burbank, California. I have been playing drums for 45 (!) years! I play with several popular bands in the L.A. area including, Nerd Halen, a nerdy tribute to Van Halen, The Remotes, L.A.'s only TV Theme song tribute band, and Leslie Pereira and The Lazy Heroes, an Indie rock band!
I have been teaching drums for 15 years around L.A. including 10 years at Burbank Music Academy. It's a passion of mine to bring the joy of drumming to a new generation! I have a fun and interactive method of teaching that gets the student playing actual songs quickly.
