Homework
Students are expected to practice reading the weekly Book, as well as practice any sight words given.
Assessment
Learners will be assessed informally during classtime. Students will be given a spelling test on Fridays. Parents may choose to grade the test or take a photo and sent it to the teacher through the Outschool platform for grading.

Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 1
This class is best suited for students should know the letter sounds and know how to blend and read simple CVC words.  They should also be able to write the letters from  memory.   

Jump in any time!  Each week, we will cover a new skill, but it will be review all week long.  You can join any time!  

During this class, students will REINFORCE their reading skills and work toward READING WITH FLUENCY.

Each week, parents/caregivers will be sent a Lesson plan, a little book to print, and a spelling word list.  Students will be given a spelling test on Fridays.  Parents may choose to grade the test or take a photo and sent it to the teacher through the Outschool platform for grading. 

If you haven't completed my Come and Meet the Vowel People Class, that one might be a great place to start.  The vowels are of upmost importance for beginning to read!  If you're child already knows the consonant and vowel sounds well, then this is the place to start!

Learning Goals

Students will demonstrate their reading abilities by reading aloud during class time.  The teacher will assess and reinforce, as needed.
