In this on your own time flexible class, students will learn to decode short vowel word families, and will build their vocabulary. Each class has a project or game as well as a lesson.

Beginner Level
This class is geared toward students who are just beginning to read. Most students at this level are probably end of PreK, K, beginning of first grade level. A struggling second grader may also fit this description well. This class is not appropriate for the majority of 3 year olds, with the exception of those gifted and reading. - Students will improve their decoding skills of short vowel words. Students will learn consonant blends. Students will improve their fine motor skills through craft projects and games. Students will have fun!

Frequency: includedFeedback: includedDetails: This is a flexible learning class schedule, so all work is essentially "homework" you will do on your own time. Expect to spend about 45 min per week on the class content and then I would strongly suggest additional time practicing reading the words.
Should know English letter names and sounds
Handouts will be provided to print each week. Students will need basic craft supplies (crayons, glue, scissors, metal brads)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parents/caregivers may need to help with scissors, glue, and other small motor skills depending on the age and maturity of the student. Videos are hosted through youtube
