This ongoing beginning readers small group is designed specifically to make blending and reading FUN! We will be playing lots of games, doing lots of activities, and reading lots of early reader books to practice letter sounds and the correct ways to blend these sounds together to form words. If your learner does well with letter sounds but struggles to use those sounds to form words, this is the class for them! My goal is to make blending/reading FUN instead of feeling like a chore or unattainable goal! Each week, we will be focusing on a different word family. (-at, -an, -en, -it, etc.) Word family lists will be posted in the classroom on Sundays for the upcoming week so you can print the word lists for your learner if you'd like. Reading the words (even just once!) while your learner follows along with their finger is incredibly beneficial for them and will make our class time much more productive! 🏫 Class Structure 🏫 ► Welcome Chat ► Word Family of the Week ► Game of the Day ► Story of the Day ⌛ Upcoming Class Schedule ⌛ Week of February 26 - Word Family -at Week of March 4 - Word Family -an Week of March 11 - Word Family -ed Week of March 18 - Word Family -it Week of March 25 - Word Family -ip Week of April 1 - NO CLASS!! Week of April 8 - Word Family -ot Week of April 15 - Word Family -op Week of April 22 - Word Family -ug Week of April 29 - Word Family -up ⭐ Important Notes for Parents ⭐ ► This class will run as a weekly subscription that can be paused/canceled/resumed at any time. We will meet 3x each week for 25 minutes sessions. If your learner needs to miss a class, it's no problem! Just let me know by the Sunday before so that I can issue you a refund for that particular class. ► If your kiddo is having an especially hard time on our class day, please send me a message to let me know they need a little extra love that day. You don't have to give me any details, just a quick note. I'll keep an eye on them during class and try my best to turn their day around. ► All learners are welcome in my classroom. Other Details
Parental Guidance
We will be using a third-party tool called LUMIO Smart Suite for our lessons. I will be sharing a link to the lesson so that the students and I can go through the material together. All activities on LUMIO may only accessed during our live class as the link becomes inactive when I end the lesson. Students will not need an account of any kind to view our content on LUMIO. They will be asked to enter their first name so that I can track all feedback from students during the lesson. No other information is requested or required.
Pre-Requisites
Students should know MOST of their letter sounds prior to taking this class. (No need for full mastery of all letter sounds) If your learner needs help with letter sounds, please check out my pre-k classes! ♥
